Tux4Kids values the privacy of our developers and users. We do not sell or give any personal information to other entities.
In keeping to the highest Web standards, we would like to detail what information we use, and how we use it:
Server Logs
Our various web servers do log the IP addresses of our visitors in standard server logs. These logs are used to diagnose problems
and administer our web sites.
Cookies
Occassionally we have web-based applications that utilize cookies for storing user information. This information is not used for
tracking rather for access to some areas of our web sites.
Mailing Lists
We do utilize several mailing lists for development and announcement purposes. For all of these mailing lists
we have a clear mechanism for you to remove yourself from future mailings. All mailing lists are opt-in (meaning, you must first
subscribe or request subscription), but as we are all volunteers and most of us are human, we may occassionally make a mistake.
Please bear this in mind if one of our developers happens to subscribe you to a mailing list without your permission.
Public Forums & Chat
Tux4Kids can make IRC channels, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its users and developers. Also, every
mailing list is made publically available online in archives.
Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise
caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.
Security
To secure various systems integrity, Tux4Kids employs measures including but not limited to security audits,
use of encryption tools and software, and other reasonable security measures and procedures.
Internal access to users' private and nonpublic personal information is restricted to site administrators and
individuals on a need-to-know basis.
