- ...Final Interview
The mission "...Final Interview" is one of my favorite examples of how cool this game can be. Without giving away too many plot details, this mission involves going into the law offices of a major lawfirm in the city, stealing some incriminating evidence, and killing a lawyer. In order to get into this lawfirm to do this, you must first go to the lawfirm's website and apply for a job. You then have to schedule and interview. This interview is your "in" to the building.
The building itself is massive, complete with a very detailed inner layout. On the day of the interview, you're buzzed in, and taken by a receptionist back to the office of the lawyer. When you confront the lawyer, you take the files and kill him. This causes noise (I haven't tried it with any silenced pistol, at this point, I don't know if one exists or not in the game) and this attracts the attention of the guards. The police are called, and you have an instant two-star wanted level. Your goal is to escape the building.
Now, as I said, the building is massive. I'm sure you could have a lengthy gun battle running around inside the building and there are likely multiple ways out (walking in to the interview, I saw that the building actually had a lower level... it could have even had an underground parking garage).
The way I first handled it was, I killed the one guard who had come back to check on the gunshot, then, instead of running back out the way I came in (I had seen many other guards that way, and my map indicated the front of the building was surrounded by the police) I noticed that this lawyer's office had tall windows and was about two stories up. I had anticipated a gun fight so I was wearing armor and had full health. I knew I could survive a two story drop (as long as I didn't land on my head).
So, after killing the one guard, I wheeled around and shot out the nearest window. I then hopped through it and to the street. Sure enough, it hurt me, but not too badly. Then, as luck would have it, someone drove by in a Feltzer (the very car I had driven there in :-) I jacked that Felzter, drove off away from the building and the cops, and lost my two-star wanted level.
This was an incredibly cool and fluid moment for me in the game. The game actually allowed me the freedom to think on my feet and come up with a creative solution to my problem. I wasn't forced to go back and fight my way through the building.
